Clover CountryNational 4-H Council and EMI Music are producing a country music compilation CD called Clover Country--Songs From Famous 4-H Alumni. This innovative project, never before seen in 4-H's history, includes 11 hit songs from confirmed 4-H alumni who are all country music superstars. Artists include: Alabama, Luke Bryan, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Sugarland, and Grammy-award winning songwriter Hillary Lindsey---who recently recorded her new song "The Clown" just for Clover Country!

Bo Ryles, Georgia State 4-H leader and National 4-H Council board of trustee, lent a creative hand as he was invited by Hillary to sing backup vocals.

OSU band member attributes his success to 4-H involvement 37 Reads

If you are an OSU football fan, chances are you have seen this guy in front of the drumline twirling a baton at a very high speed.

Stew Kitchen, a drum major for the OSU marching band, says that without being involved in 4-H, he wouldn't be where he is today.

"4-H is the best youth development program ever," he said.
Growing up in Kenton, agriculture was very much a part of his life.

Cecil County 4-H family, the Luthers, were paid a surprise visit by Ty Pennington and the design team of the ABC television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with news that in just seven days, they would receive a brand new house and horse farm. The Luther family was sent to Italy for a much needed vacation while the team, along with more than 1500 contractors and hundreds of volunteers, rebuilt the Luther home, riding center and a brand-new indoor riding arena.

Guam 4-H Creates Advisory Council to Improve 4-H Programs 68 Reads

In its effort to create programs that truly reflect the needs of its island youth, the University of Guam Cooperative Extension Service, Family, 4-H, Food & Nutrition (F4-HFN) has established its first Guam 4-H Advisory Council to obtain much needed community based input for the development of Guam 4-H Youth programming. The Council’s first members were inducted last November at the Agriculture and Life Sciences Building at the University of Guam.

Gering, Nebraska 4-H Youth Instill Community P.R.I.D.E 73 Reads

When Hispanic 4-H youth and adults in the rural northern Nebraska Panhandle towns of Gering and Scottsbluff looked for a community issue to tackle, they decided that the image of southeast Scottsbluff County did not adequately reflect the minority neighborhoods and businesses there. After facilitating an open community forum, P.R.I.D.E. (People Restoring Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) became the passion of a core group of 15 youth working in partnership with ten adults and collaborating with the community at large to improve the place that they live.

For Miller, being a 4-H volunteer has enriched his own life by the sheer enjoyment he gets from working with hundreds of 4-H youth every year. “I enjoy seeing members learn and be successful on their own,” he added. “You don’t always get to see the affect you have, but it is thrilling when you do.”

When the war started in Iraq in 2004, many Nevada Army Guard and Army Reserve families waited anxiously to hear if their loved ones were next to be called up and shipped overseas to defend the country in the global war against terrorism.

Four years later, those families still face the same possibilities, leaving their children confused, worried and troubled.

Now, with 4-H in 17 Nevada counties teaming up with a new youth program, military children can participate in fun, diverse activities including animal science, shooting sports, after school programs, leadership camps, Cloverbuds and 4-H camp at Lake Tahoe.

Richland County 4-H uses technology to learn 90 Reads

The Richland County Extension 4-H program is continuously helping the county's youth develop new skills for their future. Many of their activities have become focused on technology, which has helped adolescents develop skills needed to live and work in a society that is advancing technologically everyday.

Richland County has five 4-H Clubs and two 4-H specialty clubs that participate in several activity days and camps throughout the year, where they have the chance to experience GPS technology, digital photography, robotics, rocketry and computer training.
